About the Book:
Curated by Erik Brandt, Ficciones Typografika was a project dedicated to typographic exploration in a public space. Over a five year period, a modest poster board hung in a Minneapolis neighborhood became a barometer for experimental typographic practice within the global design community.

Description of the workshop:
. created a combination monogram of two different classic typefaces in Farsi and Roman (Nazanin and Times).
Nazanin typeface has been designed by Hossein Abdollah Haghighi for Linotype Company in 1978. It is one of the popular typeface that is used for most Iranian newspaper and magazines.
. the first letter of the participant’s name was offered in Farsi and Roman as print and vector file.
. at the beginning of the session participants gave an explanation about Farsi script and characters of Nazanin and Times typefaces and idea.
. we sketched on paper and then created a monogram combination. after primary sketch we converted the works to into a digital version.

About Typomania:
Typomania Moscow International Festival — cultural and educational project dedicated to the type, typography, calligraphy, lettering, motion-design, interactive design. Typomania is held in Moscow annually since 2012. The festival is focused on the letter, word, language. In program: poster and book exhibitions, lectures, workshops of Russian and foreign specialists it graphic design, typography, digital arts, typography video contest, book store and other events. Typomania 2018 will take place in Moscow on May 26 — June 3 in the Museum of Moscow and in some Russian cities. Theme of Typomania 2018 — «East-West».
